It has taken long enough to get here, but believe it or not, it is that time of year again: Summer! Soon enough, you’ll be lounging around the pool. While you probably cannot wait to be lying out, something that you might be fearing is your summer hair.

Once your skin is golden brown you look better, healthier, and skinnier. At Elle, we can’t get enough of our tans! However, we don’t have time to spend in a tanning bed and more importantly, we don’t want to get skin cancer caused by hours and hours in the sun. So, what do we do? We spray tan!!!

I know you all must be rushing to the phone to book your Fantasy Tan with us now that spring has finally decided to grace us with some warm weather, but first here are some of our tips in order to get the best looking and longest lasting tan.

First, it is very important to exfoliate your skin before you come into the salon. Wondering what to use? One thing is sure, loofas do not get the job done. We suggest showering with Fantasy Tan Body Scrub and exfoliating gloves. Elle Salon carries all Fantasy Tan Products.

Second, make sure you do not use any moisturizing products during or after showering. It will affect the outcome of your tan. Also, all shaving should be done prior to coming into the salon. Keep in mind that when you come in for your airbrush tan, you’re going to need to remove all makeup, jewelry and deodorant.

Wondering what to wear to the appointment? You have some options. You could go completely nude incase you don’t want any tan lines. Otherwise we have disposable tops and bottoms. If you feel more comfortable in your own bathing suits, that is completely fine as well.

Another tip to remember is to bring dark and loose clothing to change into after you have been sprayed. This will help prevent the tan from rubbing off onto your clothes. However, if you do get tan remnants on your clothes, it will come off in the wash.

Finally, after your tan is applied remember to wait 8 hours until showering. Also, use a mild soap and make sure to pat dry, not rub, when getting out of the shower. Your tan can last 5-7 days. During that time, make sure to moisturize daily and try to avoid chlorine or anything else that might cause the tan to disappear. In addition, sweating excessively from heat or working out can cause the tan to come off faster.
